I’m Leandri Kers - Craniosacral Therapist & Osteopathic Techniques

Leandri is a Craniosacral Therapist and Osteopathic Student with 12 years of experience as a Health Care Professional. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Optometry from the University of Johannesburg and a Practical Vision Therapy Accreditation from Vision Therapy Canada. After immigrating to Canada in 2016, she was introduced to the field of vision therapy and neuro-optometric rehabilitation. As an optometrist with a strong background in primary care, disease and a love for pediatrics, her training as a neuro-visual therapist began in 2018.

During the collaborative inter-professional nature of traumatic brain injury (TBI) management, she came to learn about the fascinating field of osteopathy. As she started pursuing this fascination and became more integrated within multidisciplinary care, she could see the positive influence of osteopathy on her clients’ vision-related and visual-vestibular symptoms, strabismus, developmental delays, behavioural disorders, and learning-related difficulties. Osteopathy treatment enabled more symmetry and movement in the structures supporting the eyes and vision. Her clients of all ages, even her child, taught her that once the whole body’s health was established, the eyes and vision could integrate more successfully with the body as a functional unit.

Following her love for health, well-being, and science, and with her experience with the highly sophisticated mechanism of vision, joining the Canadian College of Osteopathy academic program was an obvious decision for her. Leandri has also received advanced training in Craniosacral Therapy. She was drawn to the subtle touch of the work and the powerful therapeutic results that it can bring about.

Recently I have completed courses at The Institute of Functional Medicine and am currently enrolled in Functional Diagnostic Nutrition. I firmly believe nutrition and physiology are essential to a person’s health and well-being.

I am always interested in learning and I am constantly on the lookout for courses that will further enrich my understanding of the human body and health.

Every person is unique with their own lived history and story. Genetics, biomechanics, and environment all impact health, which is why every client receives individualized care. The goal is to teach you how to listen to your body, to recognize when things are not quite right, and to take proactive control over your health.

A multidisciplinary approach is often required which is why I use osteopathy as a foundation but incorporate functional medicine and nutrition into my practice. If referrals are required I have a wonderful group of colleagues I trust.
